26 Life lessions from 26 years

Normally I should have written this post when I turned 25 but why not breaking the rules :-)
Inspired by a posting called "50 Lessons Life Taught me" here is my personal list (some are so good that I had to copy them):

  1. You can do anything you want.
  2. Life is what you make it. It's up to you to you to make it good.
  3. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
  4. If you need help ask for it.
  5. It's easy to make excuses and that's sometimes really dumb.
  6. Be always yourself.
  7.  It's ok to be different.
  8. Most people won't agree with you.
  9. Take small actions and not wait for some day to take a big action. Some day will never come.
  10. Someone will always tell you that your ideas suck. Take action anyway.
  11. The refrigerator light doesn't always stay on.
  12. Memories are priceless.
  13. Even if an apple a day doesn't keep the doctor away it sure tastes good.
  14. Happiness is mankind's most useful emotion.
  15.  Just because a billion people do something doesn't man it's right.
  16. Try to forgive everyone.
  17. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
  18. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
  19. The hardest step for a runner is the frist one out of the front door.
  20. Exercise is the key to happiness and healthiness.
  21. Remember to turn obstacles into opportunities by keeping the faith.
  22. Do what scares you.
  23. Maybe you can't have it all. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
  24. Make more mistakes.
  25. Laugh more often.
  26. Life is awesome.
